In this work, we studied the functional role of hIK1 channels in controlling the membrane potential of MCF-7 cells throughout the cell cycle. We performed current-clamp experiments on each group of cells and determined the membrane potential. An application of 5 M CLT did not produce depolarization in cells arrested in the early G1 phase Fig. 5A ; . However, clotrimazole induced a depolarization of 25 3 and 40 6 mV cells arrested at the end of G1 and during S phases, respectively Fig. 5A ; . As shown in figure 5B, hIK1 channel inhibition mediated a strong depolarization in cells arrested in the S phase.
